Chloe Jarvela currently resides in the beautiful land of the Jagera and Turrbal people. She acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which she lives and creates and pays her deepest respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

Who am I?

Curious mover, passionate storyteller, and devoted artist, Chloe Jarvela is a 24 year old dancer and creative from Meanjin (Brisbane). With a fundamental belief in dance as a universal language, Chloe has cultivated a desire to expand her movement vocabulary - examining various movement dialects and analysing the intersection of pedestrian, the virtuosic, and theatrical - as she hopes to explore the range of human expression.

Since graduating from Queensland College of Dance’s ballet/contemporary program in 2023 and obtaining her diploma of dance, Chloe has performed in and collaborated on various independent productions. Most notably The Mythic Body (Melbourne Fringe 2026), Perilipsi (Sydney Fringe 2025), Exocytosis (Anywhere Festival, Brisbane 2025 - Dance & Audience Award winner), and Oblique (Counterparts, Wollongong 2025). Her drive for continual learning has also seen her participate in professional development opportunities such as The Farm’s Bare Bones workshop (2026), Australasian Dance Collective’s professional intensive (2025), Catapult Dance’s Impact Festival (2025), as well as Australian Dance Theatre’s very own secondment week earlier this year (2026). Chloe also works frequently alongside Phluxus2 Dance Collective, engaging in their ‘Space Eater’ residency program and yearly IndepenDance projects, and delivering weekly dance and creative movement workshops to participants with disabilities.
